TRANSLATION

I provide professional translation services from English to Czech and from Czech to English. I translate common texts (day-to-day topics), as well as specialized texts (technical and specialized topics). Specialized Czech video game translator.

My aim is quality; and as such, thorough checking of my translations goes without saying. It is also possible to use CAT tools (Computer Aided Translation) on translation projects, e.g. Wordfast Classic, Wordfast PRO, Wordfast Anywhere or SDL Trados 2009, which ensures increased text consistency and overall quality of the translation.

LOCALIZATION

TESTING

I provide localization testing of video games. Main part of the localization testing is linguistic testing. This process is sometimes called Quality Assurance.

During this process, any mistakes in the localized version are corrected. The tasks of a localization tester include checking and correcting the translated text in the game, as well as examining its situational, contextual, stylistic, qualitative and orthographical level.

Text corrections are implemented during testing, and thus the work of localization testers resembles the work of proofreaders. Optimal level of quality, adequacy and contextual accuracy is achieved thanks to the direct contact with the translated text in the game.

PROOFREADING

I provide proofreading of Czech and English texts. Proofreading involves checking and correction of texts in order to ensure orthographical, grammatical and stylistic appropriateness.

Any proofreading process should strive to ensure the readability of the text, consistency, and the elimination of unintended interpretation caused by stylistic clumsiness or improper word order. Proofreading should ensure overall refinement of the text.
